How much control do I keep over what plays?

All of it. Every request lands in a queue that you approve — nothing auto-plays, nothing is pushed to your decks, and nothing bypasses you. PartyQueue is a request filter, not a request app: guests get a way to make their voice heard, and the final call on every track stays with you.

Can guests tip or pay to jump the queue?

No. PartyQueue doesn't take payments from guests, and there's no way to buy priority for a request. What moves a track up the queue is votes from the room — not who's willing to spend the most. At a wedding especially, that's the point: nobody should be able to buy their way onto your playlist.

Can I turn requests off mid-set?

Yes. Pause the queue any time from your dashboard and guests immediately see that requests are closed. Useful during speeches, the first dance, or that hour where the floor is finally locked in and you don't want to be second-guessed.

Can I still take requests in person?

Accepted Answer

Always. Talk to guests at the booth exactly like you do now — if you like what they ask for, add it to the queue yourself and let the room vote it up alongside every other request. PartyQueue adds a channel, it doesn't replace the one you already have.

How do you help keep my set on track?

Three layers of protection. The do-not-play list blocks tracks, artists and keywords before a request ever reaches your screen. Per-guest request caps keep things fair. And you still approve everything that gets through — so the set you play is always the one you planned.

Does this connect to my decks or play music itself?

No — and that's deliberate. PartyQueue doesn't stream, doesn't play audio, and doesn't touch your rig. You keep using Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, Engine DJ, USBs, CDJs or vinyl exactly as you do now. We use a music catalog (Deezer by default, and the DJ's own Spotify account if they choose to connect it) only to look up titles, artists and album art so guests pick the right version. We're the request channel, not the jukebox.

How does PartyQueue handle a big night of requests?

More submissions, far fewer interruptions — that's the trade. Repeat requests stack into one ranked card you can read at a glance between tracks, so twenty upvotes on a track reads as crowd data, not twenty separate taps on your shoulder. It's the fastest read of a room you'll get.

What is the pre-event client portal?

Your couple (or the event coordinator) gets their own sign-in where they can see and triage requests that guests submit in the weeks before the event. They promote the ones they want, bin the ones they don't, and you walk in with a set that's already been validated by the people paying you. It replaces the music-form email chain.

Can guests request songs before the wedding day?

Yes — and it's one of the best ways to use PartyQueue. The couple can share their event's request link with guests ahead of time, on the invitations, in the RSVP pack or on the wedding website. Guests submit their suggestions in the weeks before the day, the couple triages what comes in through their own portal, and you arrive with a set already shaped by the people who'll be on the floor. You still approve everything, and you can close the pre-event window whenever you like.

Can I load a playlist in before the event?

Yes. Paste a public Spotify or Apple Music playlist URL into the Pre-Event tab and every track flows into a draft, auto-matched to album artwork. You can also add rows by hand or paste in CSV/XLSX from a planning doc. Drafts stay local until you commit them to the live queue, so nothing leaks to guests early.

How do guests find the event?

Every event ships with a print-ready QR poster, a short link and a memorable PIN. Guests scan, enter the PIN once, and they're in. No app install, no account, no email harvesting.

DJ Basic is $15/month or $150/year — unlimited events, the live ranked queue with track validation and album artwork, your own Spotify connection, the do-not-play list and a branded guest portal (no pre-event tools, client portal or reports). DJ Pro is $29/month or $290/year and adds the full pre-event toolkit (playlist import, bulk CSV, draft & commit), the guest pre-event request window, the client/coordinator portal, the global brand kit with 'Your DJ' bio, social and promo links, per-event reports with AI insights and branded PDF export, data export and priority support. Multi-Op is $69/month plus $15/month per extra DJ seat ($690/year) and adds multiple DJ seats, team management with per-DJ access tiers, full white label, client portal branding, cross-event global reporting and an account manager. Venue and multi-room plans arrive late 2026.

Is $29/month worth it for a DJ?

It's roughly 2% of a single wedding fee, and it isn't really a request tool — it's set prep. If it saves you one round of music-form emails per couple, it's paid for itself. If it stops one dead-floor request, it's paid for the year.

DJ Company gives you seats under one brand, access-tier controls so each DJ only touches what they should, event assignment, a global brand kit that every event inherits, and cross-event reporting across the whole business.

Yes. Event reports give you top tracks, request volume, a guest leaderboard and a branded PDF export you can hand to the couple or the corporate client afterwards. It's a surprisingly good upsell and referral tool.
