We use a music catalog (Deezer by default, or the DJ's own Spotify account if they choose to connect it) only to look up song titles, artists and album artwork so guests pick the right version. Nothing plays from a streaming service. Nothing has to be connected. The DJ keeps using their own library, their own rig, their own crossfades — exactly the way they run a great night already.
